In response to 12 mortars shot from the Gaza Strip, the IDF targeted terrorist positions

Earlier today, around 14:00, 12 mortars were launched from the Gaza Strip at an IDF post northeast of Gaza.

There were no injuries as a result of the attack and infrastructure was only lightly damaged. In response, the IDF paused construction work along the border and responded with tank and Israeli aircraft fire at six terrorist military positions in Gaza. Four of these positions were in northern Gaza and the other two were in northeastern Gaza.

The mortar attack occurred exactly one month after the IDF’s destruction of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement’s terror tunnel into Israel. “We’re not looking to escalate the situation, our mission is to defend Israel. This is yet another violation of Israeli sovereignty by terrorist organizations from Gaza,” said IDF Spokesperson LTC. Jonathan Conricus.
