In a joint operation the ISA, IDF, and Israel police arrested multiple operatives in Judea and Samaria who were planning terror attacks against Israelis. The operatives were recruited by Hezbollah over social media. Hezbollah called on recruits to carry out shooting attacks and suicide bombings against Israeli civilians and soldiers.
The operatives were contacted through Facebook pages with anti-Israel and pro-jihad posts. Recruits were told to open new email addresses and to communicate with their Hezbollah handlers through encrypted channels. One Hezbollah recruit in Judea and Samaria was commanded to carry out bombings on Israeli buses and worked on recruiting other Palestinians into the terror cell. He was given $900 by Hezbollah for his activities, which continued up until his arrest in March 2016, before he could carry out an attack.
In the past few years, Hezbollah has attempted to establish a terror infrastructure in Israel and Judea and Samaria. Hezbollah is exploiting social media to recruit Palestinians and offer money to those willing to carry out terror attacks against Israelis.
