Ziad al-Bandak, an adviser to PA President Mahmoud Abbas, visited the site of the Auschwitz death camp late last month — a rare move for a Palestinian official.
In response, a spokesman for Hamas, Fawzi Barhoum said:
“It was an unjustified and unhelpful visit that served only the Zionist occupation.”
Additionally, and not for the first time, Hamas denied the Holocaust, calling Bandak’s visit to Auschwitz:
“A marketing of a false Zionist alleged tragedy.”
He also accused Israel of “exaggeration” regarding the number of Holocaust victims in a bid to win the sympathy of the world.
The Hamas charter is full of Antisemitic language. It presents the fabricated “Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion” as hateful evidence that Jews are inherently greedy, manipulative and conniving.
