Rockets Fired from Southern Lebanon at Israel; Lebanese Government Responsible

Earlier this afternoon a barrage of four rockets was fired at the civilian communities of northern Israel. One of the rockets was successfully intercepted by the Iron Dome battery of the active missile defense system between Akko and Nahariya. Two other rockets landed in populated areas causing damage, but no injuries.

The IDF holds the Government of Lebanon and the Lebanese Armed Forces as the responsible bodies for this attack.

IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Yoav Mordechai: “The rockets were launched by the Global Jihad terror organization. An Iron Dome battery was pre-positioned in Northern Israel earlier this month following situation assessments. The IDF is closely following all the developments in the region.”

Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner, IDF spokesperson to the international press said in a statement: “This reinforces the threat faced by the civilians of Israel on all fronts. Such act of aggression is a clear attempt to target and terrorize the civilian communities of northern Israel, a situation that would not be tolerated anywhere else in the world. The IDF will continue to operate against those who seek to harm the civilians of this country.”

 

 

Overnight, the IAF targeted a terror site located between Beirut and Sidon in response to a barrage of four rockets launched at Northern Israel yesterday,
