VIDEO: IAF accurate hit of a terrorist site in response to rocket fire

Over the weekend, 19 missiles were launched from the Gaza Strip to Israel, attempting to hurt Israeli citizens. Fortunately, this attack on civilian population did not amount to any injuries or casualties.
On Saturday night, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) targeted a weapons manufacturing site used for terror in northern Gaza, and a direct and accurate hit was identified.

On this featured video, the target, a weapons manufacturing facility, is clearly shown embedded within civil population, as the distance between the target and civilian buildings is clearly not long. Despite the short distance, the IAF succeeded in targeting the facility only, and no civilians were hurt.
Also seen in the video is the secondary explosion created by the weapons stored on site.

Since Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005, terrorists have fired more than 7,000 rockets and mortars into Israel, putting millions of Israelis under threat on a daily basis.

In conclusion, during one weekend, over a million Israeli civilians were put in the line of fire as Israel was attacked by 19 rockets launched from the Gaza strip. The IDF responded by targeting specific terrorist sites, While preserving the lives of civilians in the area.

In the Spirit of Human Rights Day: Overview of Minorities in the IDF

Each year, thousands of minorities recruits join the IDF. This is not surprising, since the IDF makes tremendous efforts in integrating minorities into the army and society in general.

The many minorities that join the IDF are given special privileges since their differences in religion and culture are accepted. For example, the Druze will be granted time off from the army to celebrate their religious and cultural holidays with friends and family. The IDF is grateful to have an army that is melting with cultures, and therefore shows its appreciation in many different aspects.

Among the special benefits given to minority soldiers, the IDF has organized specific units that group the minority soldiers together according to their religious and cultural background in order to create a “family feel” where traditions can be practiced and shared.

One of the remarkable stories relating to minorities in the IDF is the one of Monalisa Abdo. Abdo is a nineteen-year-old Arab-Israeli female combat soldier from Haifa that volunteered to enlist in one of the IDF’s most active unisex units. Despite all of the harsh criticism against Abdo, she went through with her decision and is now one of the most talked about figures in the IDF.

The IDF Code of Conduct: Human Values in Every Soldier’s Pocket

It is kept in every soldier’s pocket at all time. It is read and analyzed in depth, together with their commanders, during basic training. It is hung in every IDF office as a constant reminder: The IDF Code of Conduct, or as it’s called in Hebrew, the “IDF Spirit”.
Compiled by the philosopher Asa Kasher and senior-ranking IDF officials such as Lt. Gen. (res.) Ehud Barak, Maj.-Gen. (res.) Elazar Stern and others, the code sets down the ground rules of morality and ethical behavior for every soldier, from the rank of private to general.
So what is the “The IDF Spirit”, and why is so significant for our region? The IDF Spirit is a set of values every soldier in the IDF follows, some of which include Human Life, Professionalism, Morality in Warfare and more. Another way to say – the IDF declares its support for human rights, and guides every soldier in the IDF to behave ethically and morally.

The “Spirit of the IDF” has three fundamental values:
  1.   Defense of the State, its Citizens and its Residents
The IDF’s goal is to defend the existence of the State of Israel, its independence and the security of the citizens and residents of the state.
  1.   Love of the Homeland and Loyalty to the Country
At the core of service in the IDF stand the love of the homeland and the commitment and devotion to the State of Israel-a democratic state that serves as a national home for the Jewish People-its citizens and residents.
  1.   Human Dignity
The IDF and its soldiers are obligated to protect human dignity. Every human being is of value regardless of his or her origin, religion, nationality, gender, status or position.

This upcoming Saturday (December 10), the IDF will mark the International Human Rights Day. Every year the IDF makes a great effort to spread these values. Famous examples include volunteering with poverty-stricken children in Israel, sending out aid missions to countries struck by disaster, donating money to charities and more.

Terrorist Planning Terror Attack on the Israel-Egypt Border Targeted by IAF

A short while ago, in a joint IDF-ISA activity, an IAF aircraft targeted a terrorist affiliated with the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, as well as an additional terrorist in the northern Gaza Strip. These terrorists were both affiliated with a terrorist squad that intended to execute a terrorist attack against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers via the western border. A direct hit was confirmed.

One of the terrorists Isam Subahi Isamil Batash, born in 1968, from the city of Gaza was a senior operative in the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades. Batash was involved in numerous previous terror attacks in which terrorists from the Gaza Strip infiltrated Israel via Sinai. One such attack was the suicide bombing in Eilat (January 2007), in which three Israeli civilians were killed. In recent years, a number of Batash’s attempted attacks were thwarted
