IAF Targets Hamas Sites in the Gaza Strip

In response to rocket fire, overnight the Israel Air Force targeted a terror activity center in the northern Gaza Strip and a Hamas tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip. Direct hits were confirmed.

The tunnel was intended for infiltrating into Israel and executing terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.

These terror-linked sites were targeted in response to the firing of rockets at Israel’s southern communities. Over the past 48 hours seven military-use projectiles launched from the Gaza Strip hit the Eshkol Regional Council, and an additional military-use projectile hit the Sdot Negev Regional Council.

The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization solely responsible for maintaining the calm in the Gaza Strip and for any terrorist activity emanating from it. The IDF will also continue to respond harshly to any attempt to use terror against the State of Israel.

Photos Document Violence During Bil’in Riot This Weekend

The following photographs taken by security forces prove that it was in fact a violent riot similar to the other riots that occurred this weekend, contrary to Palestinian claims that yesterday’s riot in Bil’in was non-violent.

Approximately 250 rioters had gathered in Bil’in, hurling rocks at security forces, who responded with riot dispersal means. The village area was declared a closed military zone in order to prevent the violent riot from escalating. Entry and exit to and from the village for residents continued as usual.

Similar violent riots occurred this weekend in Dir Nizam, Ni’lin, Beit Ummar, Budrus, and Arak Burin, in which rioters hurled rocks at security forces. In Umm Salamuna rioters attempted to block a main road. An IDF soldier was lightly wounded from a rock that was hurled at his face during the Ni’lin riot.
